Default Belt sensor

While doing AC compressor I noticed sensor isn't centered on belt. I know I didn't need it when I did RS pulley, but left it since it's very tight down there. Now paranoia has me worried about it ruining a good belt. Let me know if it's normal, because I'm not :-)
Thanks

Mine is exactly the same, the roller hangs off the belt. I've double-checked the installation, and I don't see any way to make it fit otherwise. I doubt that it causes any significant wear or stress to the belt.

Do you really think it can possibly ruin your belt by not being in the center? Just think how much tension the belt has from the two pulleys and then touch the sensor wheel, it has about as much resistance as the air.

Mine is not even fully on the belt.

Mine was like that after my R&R in December. A set of channel locks used deftly, fixed it.

I just replaced my belts and a squeaky sensor pulley with bad electrical contact, this is the normal track for the pulley.

Well, I pulled sensor, took it apart, inspected, cleaned throughly, lubricated any moving parts and put small bolt/nut for the preventative measure. Tweaked bracket just a hair before reinstalling. A little better and I won't worry about it.

Overboosted,
What problem were you solving with the bolt? The usual failure mode (that I've seen) is the plastic wheel seizing on the shaft, causing the belt to wear the sensor on one side. By lubricating it, you've done the proper maintenance. I've not heard of failure of the shaft itself, which is why I assume you added the bolt.

Given the tight clearance in there, I'd be wary of adding anything. Especially a nut, that if it gets loose... (Yeah, I see the lock washer.)

Previous post had a few failures of the peened shaft the bearing is on, and subsequent failure of bearing/wheel as it wasn't spinning freely. Bearing was fine, no more gritty feel after cleaning/lube on arm movement and locktite on threads of bolt w/lockwasher. The only thing it's close to is fan housing, so not a problem.
Also, the bearing doesn't spin on the shaft. The plastic wheel spins on the outer race of the bearing and the bearing is stationary on shaft.
