Unhappy Coming Up For Sale: 2 sets of WORK Brombacher Wheels for NB 993

So as many of you know I've been sitting on a one and a half sets of WORK Brombacher wheels for some time now. I've been waiting for two new wheels to arrive from the WORK factory in Japan, so that I have two complete sets of these wheels. The wait has been about 4-months.

I had aspired to fix up (i.e. refinish and polish) both sets, keep one set for my 993, and sell the other. Well my recent steering system & suspension overhaul is proving to be much more costly than anticipated, so I am thinking about passing off both of these sets of Brombachers to new homes.

These wheels are true 3-piece wells. I have 6 used wheels, 2 new wheels, and one bonus partial wheel for parts (face, bolts, valve stem). The specs for these wheels are: Front 18" x 8.5" et54 and Rear 18" x 10" et60. If you order these wheels new from the factory in Japan it will cost you about $3500 for a set, plus tax, shipping, and a 4-month wait time on production.

The used wheels in my collection were from a 1995 993 that ran 235 and 285 tread-width tires, so I know these fit right. The used wheels in fact have the FVD logo etched on them as well so these are period appropriate aftermarket wheels.

Why I'm posting this here and not in the FS section is because I haven't settled on a price (though I have a ballpark in mind), and I'm undecided as whether to sell these 'as-is' or cleaned up. Recommendations are welcome. Parties possibly interested in a set of these wheels, PM me to discuss details.

Here are some photos of the actual used wheels:

I really hate to see them go, but bills are stacking up. Also thanks to KP993 for the compelling sales pitch provided above. Great photo!

Cool wheels. I'd list them at the high end of your ballpark, OBO to avoid any RL finger wagging.

So, here's the finger wagging. To post FS here, you have to post a price....

Well I'm still trying to decide on refinishing them or not prior to selling them. Here's what I've told folks through PMs for ballpark pricing.

Fully refinished $3500 OBO. (same as new pricing without the 4-month wait)

For 'as-is' $250 off the $3500 for each used wheel. So $2500 OBO for a set of used wheels as is or $3000 OBO for a set that is two used and two new-in-box wheels.

It is true about the wait for these wheels if you order them new, I think mine took closer to six months to get.

FYI, I plan to take some better photographs of the wheels, catalog the imperfections, as post a proper For Sale ad tomorrow.

Hey folks, it's a new year with lots of new expenses on the horizon (such as my wedding), so I am feeling motivated to move these wheels. PM me with your interest and questions. Certain trades might be considered, but I'm really after cash right now.

Hey folks, I'm bumping this old thread again because I'm motivated to pass these wheels on to a new home. I sold the black set to a Rennlister and they shipped out yesterday. Now for the second set! Who's ready for the next set of wheels?

I have listings in the classifieds sections here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale...-nb-993-a.html

and here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/parts-ma...l#post12367436

I'm looking for $2500 for the second set of wheels (two of which are brand new). My wedding is just a month off and so are the remaining bills. Help a fellow RLer out!

Your Pcar could look sick with this set of wheels, like these examples here:

On a 987

On a 993

On a 964

Or on a 996

Spacers will be needed on certain models...

Time to get the 2 used wheels refinished and put them on your car as a little wedding present to yourself.

^^^ Best idea on rennlist this week. Consider it "expectation setting" for future priorities.

In all seriousness, congrats and good luck on the wedding. I expect to see some pictures of a tiny silver 993 decked out in "just married" excess within the next 20 days.
