Careful beating on things like an alternator stuck in a fan shroud....they break!
Don't ask how I know...still thinking about therapy to help the recovery process...

BTDT!

Be very careful with those components. I used a bit too much force and wound up with the most expensive garage wall clock in the world.

Maybe some PB blaster or WD-40 to break the corrosion between housing alternator? Mine separated easily. The only bolts were the 4 8mm nuts holding the alternator to the housing which you already took off to unhook the wiring.

No beating on anything!

Ya the beating part was a bad idea. I'm pretty sure I damaged the triple square top, cause when I put one in there it won't fit.

Anyways, the method I then used was the 3 prong jaw puller. Wow it worked so easy. I wished I did it in the first place. Now it looks like i to have a expensive clock also..

I'm just glad the new alternator and fan are back in the car. Going to finish up the belts today!

Thats prolly a 3 prong gear puller...Cant imagine it working on anyone's jaw
Great to hear that it worked, albeit maybe a little to late
