Default 1995 993 Sports Seats

It's not my style to post ebay stuff here...but these look to be the super rare 1995 993 sports seats:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=33701

Not any affiliation by any means, just thought its unique enough to alert fellow listers.

Thumbs down

I would agree. They look like the bog standard seats in my 1995 C4.

Cheers,

These are stock 95 968/993 seats. I swapped them to the seller for his 968/993 sport seats of the same color/material (black/partial leather) combination. They indeed came out of a 18K mile, garage queen 968.

I hate to argue about it but those do like the non-hardback sport seats that some early 95 993's and 964's had. EJ had those seats in his car and they are nice and more supportive than the hardback sport seats, IMO.

These are early 95 sport seats. They look similar to the standard seats but are more pronounced.

Of coarse this is what they look like in the pictures....

The ebay seats were MY seats. They are not sport seats, I traded them for a set of sport seats from a wrecked 968. Late 94/95 968's and 95 993's had identical seats, both plain and sport. You could get hard shell back sport seats on the RoW Club Sport 968's, with backs painted body color. No one has these in the US to my knowledge.

For DJF1, you may have luck looking for the 'super rare' 95 993 sport seats if you look for a 94/95 968 with the same ones. And they can be cheaper too!

I thought the so-called "early '95 sport seats" (which were the only seats availalble then and did not have hardbacks like the later ones did) looked identical to the later 993 regular seats excepts that the lateral bolsters were higher...looked the same buy held you in more

Seat bottom and seat back bolsters are both larger and more pronounced.

Like I said guys on my post... from the pics they "look" to be the sports seats. Funny enough they do look more pronounced and they have IDENTICAL power controls with the later sports seats. If you look closely on the power controls there is no Forward and Aft power (only the manual lever) which was standard on both my 993's even the blue one which had almost zero options on the car.

Damian I'm glad you clarified that. The early 95 sports seats are not easy to find. Yes they are much better than the later ones and they are "correct" on a 95. When I looked for my sports seats I looked left and right for them as I really liked them I gave up and bought the 96 on sports seats. You said to look on the 968 terittory...as an ex 968 owner I know very well how many 968's were produced....like I said NOT easy... So Please cut the irony off your post. I just thought that this may HELP someone here looking for these seats like I was a year ago...
Thanks again for the heads up and the clarification.

No irony intended, I just wanted to clarify this-as the seats in question came off my car I knew, for once, I was the expert on a Porsche subject! And I didn't know the particular sport seats I now own were like hen's teeth-thought I'd give you air cooled guys another way to approach sourcing them. Funny how 'late' 968 seats are 'early' 993 seats for 95-but from what I understand 95 968 production ceased in June 94.
