I start up and let it run for a few seconds while I get set up: seat belt, phone, etc. I keep the rpm's below 4k and avoid heavy throttle inputs until the engine gets some heat in it. I cruise in 6th. Anytime I need some acceleration I run at 3k+. I've been mashing the accelerator all the time now for 18+ years. The car is a rocket from 4500 rpm up.
There are a lot of posts that basically say the same thing.
This is what I do...why would you do anything different.

Up to 4k on light throttle when dead cold, start opening it up a bit more once the needle goes past 122F. Once it starts approaching the thermostat drop point, it's possible i've already run it through a couple of gears. If I waited till the thermostat was fully open before having fun, then getting onto the expressway would be no fun.

Start and drive.
Max of 3500 until oil needle is off the peg.
Then a max of 4500 until the thermo opens.
Then good to go whatever! Once fully warm almost always let the engine go above 5000 before I shift.
Always go to just below red line at least once in the drive.

Same! I wait till I'm out of the underground parking so I don't set off anyone's alarm!

Start and let idle for about 30 secs, keep loads light and drive slowly down the long, long driveway (about 1/8 mile).

Drive under light load (slow acceleration), shifting very slowly at ~3000 RPM (to allow for trans to warm up). Generally try to keep the RPMs between 2500-3000 and try not to dip below 2000 except when initially engaging the clutch and gently accelerating from a stop.

I let the shifter and engine "speak" to me (as well as looking at appropriate gauges to determine temp and viscosity changes)...they'll let me know that I can start to give 'er some more go as things get looser/revvier as things warm up into proper operating temps.

+1 ... Well said.

Way back in the day** Bruce Anderson R.I.P. (Porsche shop owner, Technical Editor, Educator) was an advocate of the following; "Throughout the warm up period, drive as if there is an egg between your foot and the accelerator - easy-does-it not exceeding 3,000 RPM until operating temperature is achieved"... Once at operating temps,,,, Rock n Roll
In simple terms; Drive normally, easy-does-it, under a 3K RPM threshold.

Bruce's rational included the "various metal types & each thermal expansion character"... "there's a couple of gallons of cold oil." At the time his Mountain View, CA shop had serviced our '84 Carrera 3.2 & '79 Super Beetle convertible. (continue to own the Frau's Kafer cabriolet)

** In a galaxy far away.. wow the '80s.
