Default Help Identifying Part Number!

Hi guys,

I've just bought a 1996 993 Targa. First Porsche owned and so far loving it.

I want to start reconditioning some of the rubber on the car and I'm not sure about a part number. Could you please help me find the part number of the rear window seal show in the picture?

Also if anyone can point to a good DYI tutorial on targa roofs reconditioning that would be great!

Thank you in advance!

Thanks, I've looked into all the articles for the Targa, but haven't found one where the part number is detailed. And from what i've found on a couple of vendor sites it could go anywhere from $100 to $170...so I want to make sure I get the right one!

Item 31 (if that's what you're looking for) is part number 99356291100. Item 23 is 99356251902 and is available at Pelican Parts for $91. http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...1902&x=26&y=19

It isn't clear from your post which seal you are interested in. Do you have a copy of the PET? It shows the various seals for the targa rear glass on page 366 (illustration 811-01).

If you need it you can download it from

Hi,

Thanks for your help.

I do have the PET, but was unsure if Item 23 (#99356251902) was the correct one.

I've tried to make it clearer which part I'm looking for. I want to change it because the right side of the part is kind of expanded, and it even sometimes comes right out of it's place.

I'm guessing too much heat at some point, whereas the left side is nice and snug.

It looks like your arrow is pointing to #30.

Here is a close-up of part no. 23 found on the interwebosphere. You could always go in to the stealer (dealer) and just ask them or call if you are far from the stealer.

I Think that #30 is much shorter. I've tried to highlight how long the part I'm looking for is.

I think #23 will the be correct one. Might have to double check with a dealer.

Thanks for all you help
