Default 993 listing analysis

I posted this in a couple of other threads. But it might be a good thread starter on it's own. It's every 993 6-speed, non-turbo coupe listed on auto trader and cars.com as of this morning. I use a sheet like this for aircraft acquisitions, (with much more detail) and find them useful for separating the chaff.

Tranny type would be more helpful than airport....half of them are tips, at least the cheaper ones.

Now pull a list of 997s, maybe that will change your mind about going from 993 to 997.

all on the list are manuals. I've done a 997 one. It's 5 pages and that's just the manual coupes on Autotrader!

The engineer in me wants to chart those results and see the trends based on model and mileage against price. Would be interesting to then compare against sold units and realistically see market trends. Could put an end to the "what's my car worth" threads.

I want to FORGET 1B0 in the middle of Maine (Dexter). Had a 'little' incident there in 2002 with a fairly new CJII

My comment over in the other thread:

Now add in what kind of transaxle you've got post-150K miles. Sure looks like that car is rockin' its original ride height. Brake rotors didn't look too spiffy. Etc. etc. Depending on who did the "rebuild" it actually might be a negative.

Bottom line is that you can detail up pretty much anything. ~$2K will get mine looking better than most 60-70K mile cars out there. Honestly, half the reason I'm not selling it is that I'm embarrassed what I would get, cuz in my mind it's one step from going down the track rat slope.

A scatter chart of cost vs mileage (or rather, separate charts, by model) would be interesting. If a clear correlation emerges you could then look at effect of geography to see what areas are above/below mean pricing for a given mileage.

Nice swath of model, cost, color 993 data...If this was in an excel spread sheet, it could be sorted and arranged however you want to look at it. Also pricing regression analysis by ea model...Wouldn't that be fun!

I've got it as an excel spreadsheet. I just had to JPEG it for photobucket. If anyone wants to post the excel sheet somewhere I'm happy to share it. I also have a 997 sheet... 5 pages of just 6-speed coupes.
