Koni FSD / M033 Spring compatibility answered - by Koni.
I have been looking into a set of Koni FSD's and M033 for my '97 Targa but was unsure about the M033 springs allowing the Koni's to work properly. I was hoping they may provide a better ride than my stock shocks and springs - I don't track my car.
I have seen varying answers on the forums, and I know a lot of people are using them, but wanted to be sure Koni sanctioned them. So I contacted Koni today, and here is their response. Hope this helps others and clarifies the issue.
Hello Ray,
That pairing of the FSD with the M033 springs will work just fine. We have to be careful with FSD with aftermarket lowering springs because the FSD device often does not respond well (feel underdamped) if the car hits the bump rubbers a lot so it is important to test each application first. Since these are OE springs in Europe where these KONI FSDs were developed, we are good to go. The combination that you mention has definitely been tested and proven to work well, to the point that my Porsche go-to guy when I need more Porsche specific knowledge (Jason Burkett @ Paragon products- great guy and very knowledgeable) says that it is his most common FSD and spring combination http://www.paragon-products.com/Spri...93-m033set.htm .
So you are good to go. Good luck and have a great weekend!

Yes, FSDs work well with M033s...
We have installed this combo numerous times
No owner has regretted it, in our experience
For a firmer, and greater adjustability in ride height, M033s also pair well with HDs
