Default Window switch failure

I have already did a search, and found many fantastic ways to repair the switch. Has anyone here put in something other than a replacement Porsche switch?

I was thinking of replacing with a SPDT switch with a custom molex connector. I figure I could do all 3 for 50 bucks, which is what about 1 switch will cost.

Parameters are:
1) No modification to the cutouts in the door
2) Be affordable
3) Not look like a hack job
4) Durable switch will not fail.

Side note:

I did look at the existing design, and found that if you get ID .148" tube, you can JB weld and repair when the tubes totally fail.

I bought something like that for around 15$. It works perfectely and looks exactly like the OEM that is installed beside it.

So far ALL of the aftermarket switches (ex. eBay) have failed even sooner than the Porsche switches.

Please learn from the $$$ mistakes of others and avoid new aftermarket Porsche parts on eBay. The level of quality found there would make even a Yugo owner smile.

I buy the cheap ones from Vertex and kepp 3 spares in the car all the time. It's takes 30 seconds to change them and they are like $10... I get about 2 to 2 1/2 years out of them...

If you search theres a great DIY on how to repair a broken switch and make it even strong then OEM with finishing nail. I did it last year and it worked great.

I saw that one, works great. There was a tread where if the tubes that hold the springs break, you could replace them with .148 diameter hobby tube.

I was thinking if a 3D printer could replicate the plastic lever arm assy. After all if you can fix this, the body of the switch is good.

I pulled apart a volvo switch, and they are similar in design, except use a ball bearing.

I bought 3 of these about a year ago. They fit, work and look right. If they last half as long as the $56 model I'm still ahead.

The switches i have decide to try are from a volvo 240. The seem to be the same electrical hookup on the back. I will add a few photos of the switch when i get close. new ones can be had for 25 bucks.
