70% of all Porsches built still on the road

Seems to me unrelated to build quality and so a meaningless statistic as the point at which one cuts bate on a used car has to do with the service cost at the moment it has an issue in relationship to its resale value. A 1997 Jetta with a bad clutch may cost more to fix than the car is worth. A 1997 993 with a bad clutch can be worth 10 time the cost of having the clutch serviced. As far as sudden death goes once a Porsche sports car get 15 years old it is in most cases no longer a daily driver so the crash stats probably tend to fall off.

The Porsche that will drag down that 70% figure is more likely to be the 924's. Cheap to pick up but kinda pricey service wise. Would be more interesting if the percentage could be for all 911's ever produced still on the road.
