Removing black streaks post-DE
Last weekend I got checked out for my racing license, which was great. The downside is that with all the time spent racing 'in the marbles,' the front of my car, and side fenders, are covered in black streaks from (I'm guessing) rubber kicked up by cars in front of me.
These black streaks are really stubborn, I even have some stuck to my windshield.
Any products/techniques recommended to get them off my lovely paint? I search the archives, as well as autopia and carcareonline.com, and it sounds like my options are Wurth Citrus Degreaser, P21 Total Auto Wash or Oil-Flo Solvent. Anyone with experience with these products and/or know of something else?

Not sure if it is available in this country anymore, but Dupont Prepsol 3919S is about the best product I have ever used. Have not needed any for a few years, but some people say it is not longer available (airborne solvents or something like that). Check with a Dupont auto paint distributor.

Citrus Goo Gone also works extemely well. Just be aware that if you have a protective wax coat on your car, like Zaino, most of these products will remove that as well. So touch up the wax job after removing the rubber marks.

i had a black 'smudge' on the side of my car from someone's door trim or ??. tried several different products to no avail. then, while cleaning up some tar/oil on the fender lips with the above mentioned 3M adhesive and tar remover, i gave the smudge a wipe with my cloth. presto- it was gone.

I've used mineral spirits (Home Depot) w/great success to remove track remnants, tar, grease, etc. from my painted wheels & fender edges. Paint safe, very inexpensive & readily available. Make sure the area is well ventilated & as said, re-wax.
