I got my motor mounts from Carnewal last week, and today I got a bill in the mail from Fedex Revenue Service & department of treasury for Duties, tax and customs ! Is that a common thing ? My first reaction was WTF, but I suppose that for $13 I will not put up a fight !!!
That said I hate "after purchase" taxes, and considering shipping costs, the strong Euro plus this, it makes Gert less competitive all of a sudden...

Normal import duties. I would pay them. The shipping company gets nasty and then the Dept of Revenue. Small price to pay.....
Good luck with the Mounts. Can't wait for the next installment of Bozo. "Will Bozo find the lower nut holding the mount"? "Will he remove the exhaust only to find that it is in the engine bay"?, "So will we find out what happens when you remove the mounts and then take the jack down that is holding the engine up accidently (ooops!!!)"?. These and many more questions will I'm sure be answered so STAY TUNED. I know I am....

I've ordered from Gert three times and have had to pay import duties each time. The amounts have been minimal considering the quality of the parts and confidence that have come from dealing with Gert.

Purchased a PSS9 + RS sway bars and some other odds & ends a few months back. Three weeks later, I received a duty (import tax) from DHL, $85
. I have ordered small items one at a time and not received a duty bill.

I buy lots of stuff from overseas and paying duty is a crap shoot. Sometimes you get a bill...sometimes you don't.
Fedex and EMS (USPS' overseas arm) pay the duty and pass the bill on to you. Other carriers don't do that and you get a bill from US Customs....if they get around to it. If you get overlooked consider yourself lucky. If you get the bill, however, you have to pay it!
