Good insights....Not sure, but I believe my tips are not originally chrome, but possibly stainless steel from the factory? May wide up painting them black as my silver car could possibly look OK....Opinions welcome.....
NYC 993....on another note...this pic looks great...must be the photo exposure...if not, how do you get such a deep watery look on your silver....is it Artic Silver...and what are you using?
Monkey Brain....my tips are looking similar to yours, therefore my original post. If I am correct, I believe mine were never chrome from the factory...(stainless steel?) If so, probably not too much one can do to make them shine?
I made a pass at these with the DA and a cutting pad. I'll post pics of the 'after' when I'm done. So far so good though. Pretty surprised as to how much shine came back. Getting into the tight angles is a challenge however.
Monkey-I have a buddy who has a media blaster. Mine looked like yours and after 60 secs in the media blaster they looked brand new. It doesn't pit them just takes the crude off from ever nook and cranny.

Mark, great idea. I need to check with a friend down the street. His entire garage looks like something out of This Old House. I bet he has this (or similar). A pressure washer may work as well.
