A few years back I purchased a Porter Cable 7424XP Buffer in a package deal with a variety of pads / compounds from Autogeek. Couldn't believe the results using their swirl remover but never had the time to go through the other suggested steps, just always waxed after.

I recently bought a 15 year old Miata with very tired paint, last weekend I used the Porter Cable buffer and actually went beyond just using the swirl remover compound and followed it up with using the polishing compound.......WOW!!!

TO the OP'er.....your 993 looks fantastic, if you don't have a Buffer it would be worth considering......

That finish looks great.

Wait till you try using a clay bar on the car. Talk about a smooth finish. You'll be impressed when you run your hand over the finish after clay bar treatment. Feels like glass.

That buffer is a safe bet for anyone to use. It does not have forced rotation, so there is one less aspect to worry about.
