geolab, thank you very much. This is the "normal" basic KTS manual, I have reason to believe there's a more in-debth technical manual as well.
Thank you mojorizing, I appreciate your help. The KTS gives up during the interrogation phase, it is very strange indeed. Maybe you are able to simulate a OBD unit with the same address as the Tiptronic, and reporting fault code 42? (address=41, 4800baud)
Come to think of it, maybe the KTS have finally been able to calculate the Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Look out for any departing dolphins guys!
Cheers,
Tore

There is (if I had access to a flatbed scanner I would post it) but it doesn't cover this problem. I would venture to say that you found a bug in the KTS-300/301 firmware. And although rare it is was not unheard of. I still have dozens of update floppy discs for my hammer that I never threw out!

JasonAndreas, I also have that manual, this is the normal KTS 300 manual. Was this distributed along the with the Porsche 9288/KTS 301? As you mention, it does not cover any error codes. However, I believe there was a more in-debth technical manual, but I may be wrong.

1. Was the TIP set to N or P?
2. Volume VIII of the shop manual is on the use of the tester.
3. So far I do not see anything about "Internal Error". As Jason pointed out fault code 42 is Replace Control Unit.
4. Not that familar with TIPS. Manual has different section for G03 which I assume is 1995 and for G10 which would be 1996 and later. Is the Tester prompting for G10 country version at the beginning?
5. Is voltage over or under specs?

Hi All
Rather thread revival here, and I could download the file T1.pdf.
But does anyone know of a link out there with the original delivered instructions? A link to the document that Jason posted above? I am finally getting around to trying mine.
Cheers, John

Hi - just for completeness reasons - the official KTS 300 manual (unfortunately not the 301 or Porsche 9288) can nowadays also officially downloaded from Bosch Classics over here:
