Because racecar.

*yea, I know, it's hot. Since then I added ducts for more airflow, replace bumper seals to force air through cooler not around cooler, cleaned cooler fins, replaced thermostat guts, and lowered the cooler fan engagement point. Since then, no higher than 9:30.

Still no luck.

Do I pry between the bezel and the grommet or between the grommet and the dash?

I have been prying between the grommet and the dash.

Between dash and the rubber. I think there is a bit of adhesive dried out, which makes it difficult the first time around. I picked a spot where you can get best leverage, around 7-8 o'clock to get it moving and then work your way on other sides. I just used a bigger screwdriver (carefully) and pushed under the rubber hard enough to get good grip. It was hard to pull it the first time. Also when putting the clock back use a bit of lubricant so the rubber goes in and doesn't bulge.

Agreed. Between dash and rubber. Patience is key. I thought there was no way mine would come out. I got it to move ever so slightly, then was able to grab the entire clock gauge and barely wiggle it. I have to think this helped break it free from 18yrs of dried adhesive junk behind the gauge.

I do not think this is going to happen for me. Do not want to break a bezel which I could see happening. Bezels and other interior bits are painted a custom color and seems like more fun than I'm looking to experience.

Thanks to everyone who offered advice, at least it is there now and others can give it a try.

Honestly, reach in from the frunk. It couldn't take 30 seconds if you tried. The only one you can reach is the fuel gauge. That one one can push out and then you can reach into the dash and push any other gauge out that you want. It makes me almost want to make a video out of it. They are pretty firmly in place but the advantage of pushing from the back is you don't risk scratching anything on the front.

I helped Johnny Law pull his out a few weeks ago and it took longer to open the frunk and remove the carpet to gain access.

no worries you don`t break the bezel. Take a spoon and a small towel. Now use the spoon like a lever between the rubber and the dash to lift the gauge. place the towel under the spoon to protect the dash or the other gauges.

The best tool for me is a pair of plastic mini levers to separate a mountain bike tire from the rim. They got a little edge that fit's neatly in between the dash and bezel. They bend a little under pressure so you have a good feel for prying force.
I find that it's easiest with the smaller gauges to get out. Once you have one out you have the rest of them covered.

Got it out.

Just thought I would try to pull out the fuel gauge. Since I could not push it out from behind, hands and arm to big, I though I'd pull it out from the front.

It came right out not tools, wedges or anything. Just pulled it out with my hand, no drama involved at all.

Suffice to say I was very surprised.
