Isn't the make-or-break whether the wheel has a flange? Sure looks like it on these wheels. Just checked on come Cup 1's over my shoulder, and no flange. So I'd definitely use stick-ons.
Anyway, if we've got specfic factory instructions, anyone feel free to correct me. But I've seen all manner of alloy wheels over the decades with clip on weights in wheel-to-wheel competition. Not saying it's the spiffy solution, but I've not witnessed carnage.

Rather than use readily-available adhesive weights. I feel his pain...

Plan C, see below? No shortage of "stuff" that shows up for me to sample. Hardly any of it works its way into machines, however.
Yeah. I was going for the "no stick weights at your peril" angle.

Cactus -
Did the guy have the balance machine in the back of his horse and buggy?
Seriously though, did you ask him why he used these sort of weights vs the stick-on kind? I'm lucky enough to have Forgeline close by and they handle my wheels. When I had the tires on the 4Runner replaced, Forgeline used these types of weights but I didn't care since they were stock Toyota rims. I know you don't want to go back there but I would demand that they fix this with stick on weights.
Look on the bright side, he put them on the back of the rim so you never have to see them![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Enjoy a beer, or 11.

So Cactus, I'm curious to know how many PM's you've received at this point ask what you want for your awesome car...?
Regarding the wheel balance - I've learned to NOT trust 'high-end' resources (they never care enough). For the past 3 years I've taken all of my wheels to my local Discount Tire for mounting & balancing. The great thing is that many of the kids that work there are car enthusiasts & they relish the opportunity to work on something other than a minivan. I made friends with a couple of the Managers & always make sure to tip the guys well if they mount tires without issue. I call ahead to make sure that someone I know is working before I turn up and when I do, they ALWAYS replace the hardware on the mounting machine with new and bring a stack of shop towels to ensure that the claws make no damage.
This has also lead to great pricing whenever I need tires.

Just get Andreas to stuff a wheel balancing machine into his garage. Problem solved!
Seriously, sorry to hear that the wheels have been a hassle. With Andreas so close by (relatively) and all of his skills, I'm surprised that you really want to sell the car. Most 993 owners would love to have an AOW, Robin Sun, Chris Walrod, FD Motorsports, Steve Weiner, etc. to help with car stuff.
Take a deep breath and think this through. Did you ask the wheel guy to use stick-on weights?

I can mount and balance up to 18's on my machines buddy. Come on down and we'll stick on as many strips of stick on weights as you want. Speaking of hookers and blow, I'm in Las Vegas. Should I send some your way?

Karen seems to remember South Prince St. being the iffy area of Lancaster. Given what she sees in Oakland on a daily basis, it's probably like being out in the Hamptons.
Funny that I flew from Vegas to the Cactus pre-Hershey party last year. Too bad Karen's meeting is a month later this year, else I'd try to swing it again--with party favors.

It's a fine line....
You don't want to insult a professional by telling them how you want it done, but if you don't you run the risk of it not being done professionally. Sucks either way. I have know just become the pain in the a$$ by making sure I go through all the details with limits whether its a contractor on my house or mechanic working on my car.
Hang in there Cactus.....spring will be here soon and the Cactus wagon be back on your favorites list.

I would agree that this isn't a Porsche 993 problem, it's a car problem. So why would you sell the car? You're going to be just as pissed when they do that to your replacement vehicle.
