Don't let other people's inability to do quality work affect your ability to enjoy your car. Whether you drive a GTI, 993 or a ****ing Taurus, you're still going to have to deal with incompetent people unless you do all the work yourself. I've been there several times, but refuse to let it come between me and my love for my Porsche(s).

If you do sell, shoot Al a note. He keeps asking to buy my 993 back and I won't sell, so maybe he'll settle on one much nicer than mine

I don't see the big deal, but if its such a concern, buy some stick on weights (cheap), stick it on, and remove the lip weight.

Selling is not an option. I know where you live.

The fight finally did me in. Tired of doing everything twice. My area is just bad news I guess

one of my favorite lines from the film, Fargo

"so, that would be your partner in the wood chipper?"

Those bang on weights qualify for a future road force balance certificate.

and...$60 is CHEAP. That tells me they didn't do it right, cause if they did...it takes time. Local Pcar dealer charges $90 to mount/dismount 4 tires, and road force balance. Pretty much the only task I let them handle.

I trust them to do the Tramont's when that time comes.

and cactus, my suggestion to you is to start drinking heavily. But not until Andreas and I can get there.

Cactus needs a hug. And a beer.

993 intervention to the rescue.

Actually our rims were not designed for clip-ons and these weights have a tendency to fly off at high speed. Hate to know what damage a metal wheel weight can do at high speed.

Tim,
Sorry to disappoint, but that boy needs more than a beer & a hug. Much more.

Cactus, post the number for the shop. Everyone here will politely call and request that they rectify the situation. And if they won't, we'll send Andreas and Joe around to "chat" with them......after a night out......hell, I'll come too!

Isn't the make-or-break whether the wheel has a flange? Sure looks like it on these wheels. Just checked on come Cup 1's over my shoulder, and no flange. So I'd definitely use stick-ons.

Anyway, if we've got specfic factory instructions, anyone feel free to correct me. But I've seen all manner of alloy wheels over the decades with clip on weights in wheel-to-wheel competition. Not saying it's the spiffy solution, but I've not witnessed carnage.
