My '95 (I believe it is a 1995.5 based upon the VIN) came with a small lighted key fob and a second non-OEM spare cut key. I would like to add keyless entry to my 993. Since I don't have a remote fob already where I do begin with getting one setup?
I also think I read that no all 993s came with immobilizers. Is this so? Were they added in mid-generation (e.g. '96 and later)?

Try the T-lock by Tore. I have a '96, so I don't use it. However, I do use Tore's headlights and I think they are the nuts.
