Hi all,

I have a key fob key conversion now and would like to buy another. I noticed Suncoast sells them but for 1995's only? I have a '96... Any idea what I should do? Or where to get it?

Not sure if there is a difference between the '95 and '96-97 if you are doing just the conversion - using your own electronics (i.e. the conversion).

I purchased the following parts from sunset to do mine.

944-538-041-00 Lighted Key
993-618-959-12 Hand Remote FOB (Shell only)

After ordering the parts I saw this thread

It would have saved me some money. If I did it again, I think I would have gotten a blank key as well and have it cut at the local hardware store as busting (I believe it's the only way to get the key out) up my older switch blade key in a vice kinda bugged me.

Since I have the '97, I really don't need the lighted key but kind of liked the idea. It's got a weird battery in it so replacement of the battery might be difficult. But only a problem if you use the light a lot I suspect.

Hi Johnny,

I took the electronics out from the old switchbalde and put them into a new fob a few years ago. Now I would like to have another fob, so I will need the parts you listed above, plus a new electronic keyboard... Not sure where to get that... Did you get yours from a dealer or?

I ordered an entire new fob from sunset around 150 I think. Still haven't got around to programing it. Not sure what happens if the program sequence doesn't take.
