Congrats on getting your old car back Mark! Curious if you had to pay a lot more to get it back than the original amount you sold it for?

Ginch...I paid $10K more than I sold it for in July 2011. Add the $11K I lost on my total investment when I first sold it and the nearly $10K in taxes etc. that I will have to pay now and it turned out to be a VERY expensive experience!!!

Nice story.
Congrat's on getting Joe back.

I got my car with a somewhat similar story.
The seller and i were a bunch of $$$ apart on price.
He is a nice guy, we just had different expectations.
I gave up and began searching elsewhere

About 2 months later he called me, said,, "I just broke my back waterskiing and never want to get in that 911 again. Will you pay $XXXX$?"

I did.

He has since made a full recovery and is back on the bike and riding hard
and
happily driving his Pontiac GTO which is mo betta for his back.

Good luck finding the seats.

Craig

Thanks Craig. I've always set my price and held firm without getting emotional and it has worked for me. As my wife says, "there is always another car"...

It is beyond clear your most valuable possession is your wife and not the pair of 993s. I say this not for the obvious reason, but for her support in OK-ing your purchasing two Porsches simultaneously. Maybe your wife should talk to mine.

And when did 10k mile 993 even go for a mere $28k on ebay ?

How come I never, ever see those deals???
