That looks like a rodent has been at it. Very common where we are, rats or mice etc love to chew on those wires and especially the connectors.
I swapped out the damaged wires and connectors with my old ones for now. That is a good price for a new set from Amazon.
Great info on fuel injector cleaners.

I have used both Bosch & Beru wires. I did notice that the Beru and Bosch wires seem to have slightly differing electrical clips on their ends that match the slightly different electrical posts on the two brands of rotor caps. Funny most recently I have Beru wires and Bosch caps and even though their clips do not seem to clip in as cleanly the combination of the brands seem to work just fine. A failed wire to the coil as pictured above is unlikely caused by low wire quality as the wire to the coil is the wire that is subjected to the least harsh environment as compared to the other wires running to the spark plugs.

Dirty injectors are quite common and directly related to the quality of the fuel as well as the use of injector cleaners. Prolonged idling adds to the problem as well. When they get really bad, we send them out for professional testing and cleaning, followed by a strict regimen of injector cleaner use to prevent a recurrence.
Who do you use for injector testing and cleaning?
Thanks!

I have had two 911s with electronic fuel injection. A 86' and a 96', I have never had injector or wire problems. I replaced the wires once at about 80Kmiles on the 993 as the engine was out for a new clutch. Once every year or two I put in two bottle treatments of Techron. Not sure if this is even necessary as I use Shell gas that already has this same additive. Can someone discuss why anyone would ever have injector problems?
