Ouch on the price. Brings a ton more options into play. Would love to slap a set of Fuchs on my 964, but only if we can get a half-way decent discount through a group buy.

Default Price

Obviously these wheels are not cheap. Suggest anyone interested in a possible group order check out the manufacturer's website (www.fuchsfelge.com) to compare price against other sources. Also keep in mind wheN doing the comparison, VAT tax (19%) is reduced from the price for shipments to the US. Fuchs' site indicates that shipping to US is about 320 euros for a set of wheels. A number of things to consider.

A couple of folks on the 964 forum are running the Fuchsfelge. Here is a post from a member who recently ordered directly from them.

I ordered through the manufacturers website. Only annoyance was the fixed freight cost however no other issues. The wheels are gorgeous. Never regret buying quality and I think these will hold their value well.

That was quick. They are 17". I put them up against the 18" speed lines on my Turbo 3.6 and they are the same final diameter with stock tyres on. Of you can take 18" standard I'd go that way for better tyre choice.

I am sold on these wheels. Still debating between 17" (17"x8" front and 17"x9" rear) or 18" setup. Manufacturer direct seems the way to go when all the numbers are crunched. Is anyone here willing to contact Otto Fuchs directly and see if there is interest on their end? Not being lazy here, just not sure I can conduct due diligence with my travel schedule.

Just in case anyone needs more convincing. 17", 7mm spacers all around, 72mm studs, open steel lug nuts, OE Porsche center caps spray painted black. 17" wheels and tires are both lighter and cheaper. They ride better, and look proper on a NB 993/964. I might consider getting tires that are just a hair taller next time, so it'll look even more old school.

If you have a WB, that might be a different story. 18" do offer you a few more tire options.

What are your current tire dimensions? And are you running spacers because you prefer the looks? Or were they required for clearance?

225/45 front and 255/40 rear. With the RS ride height, it really looks a lot better with a little spacers. For the street, I wouldn't run anything more than 225 for steering feel, and they still offer a bit more grip than the stock 205. That's also why I run a 8" front. 255 is stock rear size. I don't think there are many 265 17" option, but I'd have preferred that to match the RS setup. 255 is fine for the street though, plenty of grip. Actually, may be too much for hooning. For the track, I'd run some 18" steam rollers.

gotta say those rims are becoming my favorite look on a white or silver car and +1 for 17's w/ that taller tire old school look. I don't like black rims on blue cars though, so I get to save my $$ for now

You can get them with the spokes in silver. I think that looks awesome on a blue car
