18 inch Fuchs - direct order from Germany
Thinking of ordering new Fuchs (fuchsfelge) directly from Germany. Anyone done that? A couple of questions.
How is VAT tax handled? Refunded? Credited against sale price?
Are there import duties?
What was time between placing order and getting the wheels?
Any language problems? Easy to do deal with?
Any pointers.

I think 993kt was the user that I recall wrote about fuchs recently ---> 993kt, great upgrade read - not much about the fuchs in this thread but maybe you can pm him and ask him about where he bought his.

this thread came to mind also ---> https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...nd-beyond.html

No VAT on orders outside EU.
No import taxes in the US.
Ask them to ship via DHL, not UPS, FedEx, etc. I ordered a set of wheels from Germany a couple of years ago and was charged $260. The wheels arrived in NYC in about 10 days. Very reasonable IMO.

check in at fvd.com
ATTENTION Guys
im not sure anymore about the VAT
there is a new law / tax ruling in Germany
last year i brought some parts from Germany, i wanted my common refund at the airport and there the custom guy (need stamp from him) really apologized and told me that there is no more VAT refund on any car or motorbike parts. Checked it, he was right!
Also the invoice has to show a) the address in the none-EU country and b) a COMPANY NAME ...
so to be sure to get a VAT free deal, now my invoices are always addressed to
Holger XXXX Ltd (looks it is a typo error )
Street XX
Dubai, UAE
last xmas no problem with the airport customs
Don't know exactly if it is also valid for shipping, but the fvd guy was pretty happy as i could give him a company name as shipping address!

I too am very interested in Fuchs for my recently acquired 993. I've been in touch with this company and, to date, their responses have been quite prompt. I haven't pulled the trigger yet though, as I need to make my way through the to-do list that I compiled after the PPI.
I was told they are the actual Fuchs wheels.

This thread is another owner who put Fuchs on their 993. Simply gorgeous.

I ordered mine directly through email exchanges, because their 17x8" were not available yet. The VAT will be deducted once you put in you shipping address from their website. They shipped via UPS, arrived in one week. Shipping is about the same price as VAT, and they have no other option for me. A few months after the wheels arrived, I got a call from ups and they charged me $70 for custom. Not sure if that will happen to everyone. English is not a problem for them.
