I would think that when a car is almost 19 years old, price is highly dependent on how the car was maintained. Even if only 54K miles, after 19 years there are many maintenance considerations. Lower level of maintenance = lower end of the pricing spectrum. High level..........you know. And a PPI will drive the price considerations as well.

Don't mean to derail the thread but, what is it about the C4 that makes it less desireable? I ask because I've expanded my search to includ C4's at this point. I know they weigh 110 pounds more, amd can understeer a bit in twisties under load (when power goes to the front). But in the absence of finding the right-condition C2 at the right price, is there something inherent about the NB C4 I'm missing, that makes it something I should stop considering?

All these guesses are subjective...![rockon](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/rockon.gif)
The car is not worth a nickle more or less, than a buyer is willing to spend![ducking](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/icon107.gif)
All kidding aside, with the mileage, depending on condition; $35-$40K

The purist among us prefer the rwd 911's over the awd's. IMHO, 99.9% of owners, 99.9% of the time...can't tell the difference. Improvements in suspension, sway bars, and larger front tires can all but eliminate that additional understeer in most driving situations.
Buy the best car you can find, based on condition, your preferred color combo and options, and price.

There are lots of opinions out there. Try searching with google, a rennlist search won't yield much. Here is a sample:
https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...-c2-vs-c4.html
I was looking for the best 993 in my budget and happened upon a C4. I discovered there are actually a few nice extras that are standard with the C4 option including hydraulically boosted brakes, Bosch 5 4-channel abs, limited slip diff, M030 front drop links, beefier motor mounts, and a cool weighted silver top shift lever. In dry conditions 95% of the power is directed to the rear wheels and most drivers would be hard pressed to tell the difference. The difference in weight is less than a tank of gas. Plus you can readily convert to 2wd if you must (this is reversible too).
But good luck finding a C4 narrow body. Only 951 NB C4 coupes were imported to the US. That's about 4% of the total 993's imported.
Buy the best 993 you can find. Chances are slim that you will find a C4, but don't rule them out. And consider yourself fortunate with what ever you get.

Not sure how accurate Wikipedia is but-
Looks like they made 4x as many NB C2 Coupes as they did C4 Coupes
Seems like C4 NB should be at a premium
