First and foremost, I do not give a Flying F what and did not buy my 993 to please a Troll from either the 964 community or a Snowback from Vancouver.

I bought the 993 because it is the best looking Porsche. It has the sensuous lines reminiscent of the Pre and Postwar coach built cars that have become the icons of beauty in the automotive world. It is sex on 4 wheels.

Like the Art I by I do not care what it will be worth. I by Art that I like.

If you do not like the styling of the 993 you are entitled to your opinion. But you are wrong. Like putting 30 year old Scotch in coke wrong.

As to the comforts and drivability; I learned to drive in a 1973 911T. I love driving them but I love the 993 much more. Except he exhaust note of the 73.
As for the trolls even the Pinto and Aztec have it's fans.

"Like the Art I by"...? What does that even mean?

Do moderators ban users from the site/specific subforums?

Funny, that's the post that got you to reply? Not the others calling you a troll. Interesting.

More evidence of identity crisis:

(Note post 17 in the thread above-spot on)

Then, there are the three identical PM's sent a few minutes apart, from him, where it is claimed he is "provocative (his spelling, not mine) enough" to post "enticing and thought provoking" threads.

Lemme predict the future... say... 40 more years.

The history books (books in 40 years = LOL) will read (excuse my an "Idiocracy" fashion):

"The Porsche 911's Styling - 901 = Weird but Fu˘k Yea, looked awesome, peugeot bitched, renamed 911, history changed...

"Long hoods", swb, lwb, wings, racey stuff, the Steve McQueen movie "LeMans"... THE Classic.

SC era, short hoods, 80's crap, more racey stuff, BIG wings, still looked pretty badass, the Charlie Sheen movie "No Man's Land", Speedster SC style was craaaaay... A Classic.

964era, bumper covers, ooooh motorized wing, kickass widebody, more race car stuff, still sweet classic shape, 964 speedster was like BAAM!, the Will Smith movie "Bad Boys", (959 tripped everyone out, supercar ****, way too fast forward for 911 appreciators)... STILL Classic.

THEN, out of some biblical miracle reality show, as featured in the under appreciated Porsche promotional short film "The Latest Evolution" and on multiple flattering episodes of Top Gear, comes this puffy, wide assed, exaggerated yet streamlined, sexier version of the classic 911 that somehow will never be both Better AND Classic. 993 Wins! 993 Wins! 993 Wins! For serious... Settle up your bets. Nothing will ever look better AND be classified a classic 911. Sorry everyone else. 993 ... BEST Classic"

I might be a little biased...

The story ends there btw... 996 and onwards are not "911's". They are wonderful sports cars and will continue to outperform and supersede their predecessors. The 997 even proved that the natural progression was murdered by the 996 and it would have to try to get back on track... however, too little, too late. 911's died in 1998 (USA). Porsche will have a new sports car era using the 911 nomenclature but we all know what's up

I agree. The water cooled cars seem to be in the disposable sports car category. Rebuild the engine on a 996? At 100k miles the interior will be shot in most. Throw it away and get another. So many are made, the value for preservation will never exist.
