My Star Certified technician got on his back, in the front drivers seat, and was fiddling around under the dash...I finally asked if he was looking for the OBD II port, and he said, yeah

I did a half hour drive on the way to my smog appointment a and passed with room to spare. Of course, it's a 1995.

Yeah...Star Certified was a requirement.

Ed...great advice. I did everything you suggest except make sure I was first in line. The cats had cooled off enough during the 20-30 minutes I had to wait for my turn. The smog tester was cool enough to let me drive it and put me back first in line...and, it passed!
