Question for those who have bought Fister mufflers
Did you buy them with a finish - such as cerachrome?
Or, did you buy them raw?
If bought raw - do they come clean and polished, or they look like old used mufflers?
Any advantage to the finish, other than some expensive eye candy $175 (that never gets seen anyway)?

I have Stage II's with Cermachrome, they have been on the car for over a year now. They look just as great as the day I put them on, I highly recommend going that way. I see them all the time, and that's what counts.

i bought my stage II s with no coating as i didnt think it was worth the extra money. they just come raw but dont look dirty. i think he sands them or uses a wire wheel to clean them up or something like that. i can post a pic if you want to see how mine came in the raw.

I had mine finished in Velvet Black in part as homage to the old Abarth and Stebro exhausts of the '70s. Plus I like the black look, especially since I also bought the black ceramic wide oval tips.. The finish is a ceramic coating that absorbs(?) or somehow reduces the radiated heat to the point that Darin removes the heat shield mount on his mufflers for some slight weight savings, too. So the finish is more than eye candy.

Mine are the III's in velvet black. The practical use is that the ceramic coating does keep the radiated heat down. I also wanted mine black to go with the theme of the car when you find those couple angles where you can see the cans. But I'd recommend the ceramic finish in whichever color you prefer.

Stage III's raw - came very clean. I considered doing the ceramic but decided to go with raw. Based on other info I gathered about real world heat reduction and the fact they are under the car, I decided to put the extra cash elsewhere. Have heard nothing I would trade them for!

I am in Ohio which never really get's hot - some heat saving s is not an issue.
Mufflers not visible at all, especially since car has been lowered to ROW.
If anyone has a raw pic they could post that would be appreciated.
THX.

Fister II
Mag Silver
Wide oval tips
The finish looks good and reducing engine compartment heat is good. I'd say optional if you don't want to spend the $175.
The wide oval tips look much better than my old motorsound tips.
Sound is perfect. Gurgle at idle, quiet on the highway, loud with hard acceleration. Impressive for a non-valved exhaust system.

I have Stage IIs with the ceramic coating. To be honest, I don't know whether it's marketing schtick or really helps with heat reduction, but at the small price point relative to all things Porsche, the ceramic coating seemed worth a shot to me.

Fister II in Mag Silver ... went with the coating because it's supposed to reduce radiated heat.
Wide Ovals in Velvet Black
Not sure how much the radiated heat is reduced but I do like them ... Mag Silver ... like in a previous post is an "old school" look ... simple and clean.
