Enjoyed hanging out with everyone. Believe me, removing an engine (and trans) from a 993 is not for the faint of heart. Lots of helpers means there is no turning back! Here is one photo to add to the thread:
The conversation is something like this, "what the....you have got to see this"
"there is something bolted to the nose of the trans..."

Well, I was in Michigan and Chicago all week, but got a little done today. Snapped a bunch of pics all around the engine, then got a "diaper" under the lump and did a little cleaning and some disassembly. She's actually not too terribly dirty/greasy. Got the clutch and PP off-not quite to the rivets, but well consumed. Tomorrow, I'll get some more bits off, and maybe start doing chores like RMS, lifters, etc this week.

So here's some of the interesting stuff, for people following, and interested in what their cars at 70K+ may be looking like inside. I pull the DMF today, and as you can see, there is a slight oil weep from the RMS. I had NO visible oil leak on the floor, at least in that location. I had an occasional (every couple of week-maybe) drip, but it was at the extreme rear, and at the slight seepage on the LH chain cover. I've seen threads where people speculate on whether the seal should be "part of" a clutch job. My evidence shows it is prudent to go ahead and order the seal with the clutch, as I did.
