I've always been pleased with USAA.

Just be prepared to prove what your car is worth or perhaps hire a lawyer to do so. I read people were able to show appraisals/sales/car adds for similar cars and get the FMV. Not sure how well that would work with 4S.

I looked into this "collector" insurance that others mentioned and they are not that cheap and have lots of restrictions if you drive your car a lot.

I think when somebody say that they are pleased with their insurance they need to tell what they used it for. Of course you would pleased with your insurance if you never used it.

My daughter totaled my Elantra. USAA paid out MORE than I paid for the car, based on low mileage. They didn't just give a blue-book value. USAA provided me extensive documentation of what my car sold for in my area of the country, with similar mileage.

In the 35 years I've been insured with USAA, there have certainly been a number of various claims. All we paid out with zero hassle.

The last I saw of the Hyundai:

She was very lucky... a small bit of glass in her elbow (she now has a permanent scar as a souvenir), and a stiff neck for a few weeks. I bought her another nearly identical Hyundai, since it has proven its crash-worthiness.

Oh to everyone out there... whatever you do... do NOT but your insurance from AIG. I worked for them for 15 years. They suck. Big time. Consider that to be a public service announcement.
