I'll re-post this on this message string:

So has anyone tried one of the Dry Cell batteries?? The red top Optima weighs 38.8 lbs. These dry cells start at 13 lbs. My buddy has a modifed M3 with one of these little things and it runs and starts just fine. I was thinking of getting one that weighs 23 lbs. A little bigger just to be on the safe side. Still saves a bunch of weight.

Thoughts??

Money, money, money. Everyone wants me to cash their check. I'll get to the bank soon I promise.

Those are the some of the batteries I was asking about. They are a number of manufacturers. I was actually looking at the Genesis model G26. Reasonable price, and saves over 15 lbs in front of the front tire. Make that kind of change on 5 or 6 things in your car and you just saved 100 lbs...

But I can't find anyone on the board here that has one. Oh well, as the newly appointed Lunatic of the HWFM racing team I feel compelled to get one. Might start on the little tiny one and see how that goes. I'll post the results...

I'm very interested in the dry cell batteries as well. Alot of the NSX guys are using em without a prob with a little battery tender attached. Also seen a supra that had no problems using one of the 12 lb units. I'd love to have one as it would put me that much closer to reaching my 500lb goal for weight reduction.........
