Agreed value policy
Just received an Agreed Value policy quote from Hagerty (through my Allstate agent) and was curious if anyone had found similar or better results. I'm not totally unhappy with the quote - I just thought it might come in a bit less. The particulars are; $45k agreed value, Premium Plan (which covers first 50 miles of flatbed towing), $500 deductibles, $250k/$500k Bodily and $100k Property. Total premium quote: $1,103/yr.
Thoughts?
Thanks!!

You might save a bit with Leland West. I've got an AVP with them for my '88 cab, for and AGV of $22k, and I'm paying $450/year. Policy is similar, no milage restrictions, but can only use it as a commuting car 1x/week (usage restriction). If that were extrapolated to $45k, you'd look at roughly $900/yr?

^^^ Agreed. there are lots of factors that affect premium rates, but the best deal I got was with Leland West. There are few restrictions unlike with some carriers. I pay less than $400 per year with full cover, $500 deductibles, PIP, and agreed value of $40K.

thanks Corrdo. that's a significant difference and worth looking into. our values are not that far apart, but our premiums certainly are. appreciate the info.

I just put insurance on my 993 with $48k value, same coverages and deductible. Hagerty quoted me similar price as you got, then I went to Grundy and got policy for under $750. I also went through my normal insurance agent.

my allstate agent only works with Hagerty, so I'll have to approach Leland West and Grundy on my own. it certainly looks like I can do better on the premium, though. thanks again.

Had Hagerty agreed value at only $45000, on a 55000 mile saint to sample C4
one windshield claim for a crack driving to Ca. also one $3600.00 claim for door creased in parking lot , long story, Was paying $1150.00 annual.
They dropped me like a hot potato, called my local state farm rep. Had a appraised agree to replacement value of $68500.00
Same coverage limited 2500-3000 miles a year $750.00 annual.
Big thumbs up for State farm, thumbs down on Hagerty.

Hagerty OK until you make a claim..........................I did, they didn't like it.
You are only allowed to go for a quiet drive to perhaps get an ice cream [see their web site - it's bull****].

Check you regular carrier for options. Here in CT I have agreed value of $64,900 ($65k is the next premium tier) with low deductibles and maximum liability / coverage (plus an umbrella). Premium is right around $1000 with zero limitations - it's a regular auto policy. But around November 1 I store the car for the winter and the premium goes down to something like $200 until around May 1. So my "net" premium is around $600 a year.

Ditto on Leland West. I dropped Hagerty this year and switched over. $48k guaranteed value, 2,500 miles a year....apples to apples. Went from $1,200 to $750. Had to rejoin PCA which is good anyway. Hagerty raised my rate every year just because.

I used to use Haggarty for my 930, when I bought the 993 and asked for a an increase of coverage from $45K to $70K my premium jumped from $450.00 to $900.00
I found that more and more Insurance Co's are doing policies for collector cars and by getting a quote from the company who has my DD and my house I was able to get the package discount.saving $250. FWIW
