L.A. Area Rennlist Fun Run?
'tis been awhile since the last one, and based on the interest from my last post -- how 'bout we all get together again down here in So. Cal? We can call it a celebration of the new Rennlist Server upgrade, if we need an excuse
I think its too last minute to get together this weekend, so I'll propose that we gather on July 27th for a breakfast run. I'd also be up for an August 3rd meet if that date is better.
Rather than clog up the rennlist forum with our local chatter, please email me directly if you are interested. My email is atemplar@aol.com. Please let me know what date, time and/or route you would prefer. I'll then get a big ol' email thing going between us and once we get 5-6 folks confirmed for a certain date n' time, I'll post it on Rennlist so that anyone who missed this initial thread will be alerted.
Last time we went up into Malibu and it went rather well, but the time before that (if memory serves) we went on a route further South starting at a little diner and winding up at a nice lookout point.
Hope to see some of y'all soon

Just an early update:
Based on the first 4 responses, the date will be July 27th and the location is Malibu. We are still working on timing and route.

Temple,
I maybe out of town that weekend, but if I'm not then count me in. Those guys in NoCal can't have all of the fun.

Lets clog up this board! I'm interested, if I get my car back in time, and all is well on the home front. Where, exactly, and what time? What route and how long?

All right, majority rules. Clog away
Looks like more folks can make Aug. 3rd now, so let's do it then. Last time, the parking lot at the supermarket where Sunset meets PCH (across from Gladstone's) was a nice place to gather. How does 7:30 a.m. sound? Drive first (when there is less traffic), and then brunch. Someone else has already suggested 7:00 a.m. instead, which I don't mind, but I'm not sure if that's too early for folks driving in from a distance and/or nursing a hangover from the night before
I forget who came up with the Malibu route last time, but it worked well. Anyway, suggestions are welcome.

David in LA, are you going to be back in the states for this? Sounds like it will be alot of fun. There is also a Big Bear drive August 10 spearheaded through the Pelican Parts website.

Route suggestion . . . PCH (N) -> Topanga Canyon -> Old Topanga -> Mulholland (past the Rock Store) -> Encinal Canyon -> Decker (Heading towards Westlake Village) -> Potereo (Through Lake Sherwood) -> Lynn (Past Dos Vientos and into Oxnard/Camarillo) -> Back onto to PCH (S)
Lunch suggestions . . . Neptunes Nest or Malibu Seafood Market or ???
Elapsed driving time . . . 1:45
Known Hazzards . . . Lots of bikers near the Rock Store especially on Sunday
Notes . . . nice combination of "tight and slow" as well as "fast sweeping" turns
