Sat is looking OK so far. Only 10-20% chance precip.

It took you two days to wash/wax...? Were you doing the whole polish/orbiter thing?

Yeah, typically wash/clay/polish/wax. Only did a quick wash/polish this time, but my car was just so dirty from the freeze we had several weeks ago. It took two washes to get the dirt off!!!

you might have a shot @ washing again (and re-applying more lipstick) on thursday and then leave it at home on friday. could still be clean by saturday morning, assuming there's no rain in the AM.

i'm hoping for a little clean up before saturday myself, but i'm driving it every day this week.

Saturday's almost here and it looks like the weather is going to cooperate this time. Here's a reminder of the details for Saturday:

Please come inside first, get a nametag, have some coffee and pastries and once everyone has had a chance to arrive we’ll do a quick meet and greet. We’ll then go outside for CorrdoBrit (Haydn) and 97_993C2 (Dan) to do a Stage II and Stage III sound off. Some time after the sound off, rsabeebe (Rich) will conduct the raffles. We'll get a quick head count of those who want to go to Spring Creek with Darin for some bbq. After that, we’ll just hang out and talk cars until RAC kicks us out.

Looking forward to seeing everyone............and your 993s!

Can't wait!
One question for the local guys, I will be arriving Friday about 3pm, it looks like I'm going to get some rain on the road, does anyone know a Mobil detail guy that can come to my hotel garage and clean my car? Vesuvius doesn't look good dirty

Try Josh Ottmann. http://www.ottmanndetailing.com/. I know he goes to people's homes with a water supply but don't know if he has one of those portable water tank/sprayer things. Bigger issue is that he's usually booked a couple of weeks in advance.

Opo,

A couple of other suggestions. Call Hans at RAC and they may have their guy clean up your car if you arrive early. Carlos, the detailer, is a good guy and does a good job.

I have a mobile guy who does our "Regular" cars. Salvador (214) 397-6885

Brian - We also need to add Shadow993 "David" to the sound off. He has Fister III's with Fabspeed sport cats (200 cell). It will give a nice comparison to those who want to go even louder than Fister's with stock cats.

Guys, thank you for all the response, I haven't got a hold of Hans just yet, I did talk to Salvador (Patricks guy) he is available but he needs water and the hotel doesn't have water outlets outside the hotel also Jason (JDHertz11) offered his place to wash the car, let's see what happens by tomorrow

Rudy,

You might try calling Forest Car Wash (972.385.1533). They are at Forest Lane and the North Dallas Tollway. They are not too far from RAC. Their website says that they wash by hand. You might call and verify exactly what they do. They are open from 8:00AM - 6:00PM on Sat. I have no idea how good they are nor their method of cleaning cars. You could always bring your own supplies and buckets and find a wand style car wash for a DIY. Just throwing out options. I am in Plano and you are welcome to use my house. I will be out but you can still use my water.
