I might be forced to drive the new 958 Cayenne Turbo with Fabspeed exhaust. The meanest sounding SUV I have ever heard :-)

But the '95 FZJ80 is a more likely my mode of transport.

John, those Cayenne tires will be as hard as rocks! Leave it in the barn!

RAC can't accommodate us then. If we don't do it Saturday it won't happen until mid-January at the earliest.

Precip is to be over tomorrow around noon. I'm hoping that will allow plenty of time for things to dry up.

Well things didn't work out and my 993 didn't make it to RAC this afternoon. Here's hoping we have at least semi-clear roads Saturday.

UPDATE Obviously, Mother Nature drives a water cooled Porsche and it leaked all over the Metroplex last night.

I have just spoken to Hans and we are going to visit again this afternoon after a check of the roads. An announcement regarding tomorrow's gathering will follow so please be sure to check back.

Hey guys, I think this would be the best course of action, even if we have to move it out to Jan. The temps are below freezing until Sunday, so the side roads are going to be iced up. Showing up in my truck for a 993 gathering would be no fun.

****OFFICIAL UPDATE****

Here’s the deal. I’ve been driving around quite a bit today and the roads are mostly wet and/or slushy. The problem is there hasn’t been enough traffic today to dry the roads out. Combine that with the hard re-freeze that we’re expecting tonight and I think we’ll be covered in a sheet of ice tomorrow morning. I even drove by RAC and their parking lot went untouched today so tomorrow it will be better suited for some pond hockey than a 993 gathering.

I’ve spoken to Hans a couple of times and as much as I hate to do this, I think it best to postpone this event altogether. I certainly don’t think it’s worth risking our precious 993s (996s would have been ok……….jk) when we can simply do this another time. If some of you know others that may not see this post, please make sure word gets around about the postponing.

I will get together with Hans in the near future and propose a new date so stay tuned. Thanks again to RAC, FD Motorsports, Office Perks, PCARMOUNTS and rsabeebe. I especially appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm and participation and look forward to gathering in the near future.

Probably the right decision, Brian. Thanks for all your efforts. I was sweating having to slide over to RAC tomorrow, or drive through salty slush in the P-car.
