I probably will do it, and I was able to get the installation instructions from Rennline - great company BTW - and was already thinking of sticking some foam between the mats and floor so thanks for confirming the idea.

The non race ones have a hole that goes over the little finger thing. It secures well, especially with a couple extra strips of velcro on the back.
