Default Rennline Track Mat: Using one?

Hi guys..just got a 993 and I want to 'clean up' the floor around the pedals…
the Rennline Track mat looks good. But I have a couple of questions:
(a) Does it do the job? (b) Is it secure on the floor (it would drive me nuts if it slides around, even a little) and finally © Would you recommend it?
All input very much appreciated!

I have the Rennline full race track mat and love it. It is super secure and evens out the floor area. Can't speak for the non-race one, though.

BTW, I have been happy with all of my Rennline purchases.

Yes, to the full race versions, they bolt solidly to the floor

Dunno about the street versions

Have the track mats (not the full-race ones) and although not bolted to the floor (Velcro) I have not experienced any movement whatsoever. Makes it much easier to remove for cleaning. Very good product.

I've had the full race and track mat versions. Both were great. When I stripped out the carpet it was time for full race.

That is what I did and have the full race. Rugged and simple.

Sorry to hijack, but has anyone with the full race mats put carpet on top of the mat for appearance when not racing? Are there any issues? My floor padding is toast and I'm considering this option.

What is the difference between the two? I checked the site, but didn't find a description for the non race version, though I can see in the photos that the race ones are smooth whereas the other version has 4 raised ribs.

I put the old floor mats in when not in track mode

The race version is bigger and it requires removal of the carpet and padding. The smaller one if for replacing just the floor mat. I love the race mat because it feels very solid. I never use the floor mat on it, just don't wear your heels

This is what I do.

They work as described, however here I have had a couple of things...
1. They scratch very easy and start to look weathered, so be careful getting the silver colored ones
2. They are VERY slick when wet (I live in WA ) and with track shoes you can slip getting in and out of the car.

Other then that they work great!

Good to know, thanks. I've just finished removing all the carpeting, and will be replacing it with an RS type carpet kit. I was thinking of installing these in place of the mats. With the race version, would you leave the padding out? This is not a track car,and I'm pretty sure the level of road noise would be quite high without that padding. On the other hand, the padding is pretty beat up, and weighs quite a bit. Does anyone who install the race version on a street car have any thoughts on this?

I removed all the factory sound insulation and put in 1/8" vinyl/foam insulation from Cascade, including the floor area. I don't have any problem with road noise. It's still a street car and I have taken it on 200+ mile road trips. DO IT
