Turn signal problems, confused
Before I start, I have spent a lot of time on past threads trying to solve this to no avail.
I have a 97 993 and none of the turn signals work, no action front or back, also no audible noise inside the cabin either.
From previous threads I figured it is a turn signal relay, I now have the part from pelican but I see no mention of relays, only fuses in both the essential 993 companion and in the cars electric panel cover. Ant help would be great
Thanks so much

I think it is behind the clock fixed to the inner wing, if you remove the clock and look through the hole you can see it on right by the bonnet hinge
Edit. Just thought That's on a rhd 993, I guess yours is lhd
So don't know if it is still by what would be your passenger side bonnet hinge

There is a relay located behind a small cover plate on the right side of the tunnel. It's about where a passengers left knee would rest against the tunnel. If your interior is black, you might have never noticed it.

seconded to Falcon.
the one behind the fuel gauge (not the clock, there is none) is the one whichmakes made the silly noise when the door is open.
Actually there is also another one, but i never figured for what....

I do have a what looks like a patch in the carpet on the right side of the tunnel
But it does not feel like it would give without something being damaged
I can get my fingers underneath the bottom but it feels connected to the left and right of the seam from under neath. If i pull on what looks like a panel, the whole side of the tunnel moves with it

The turn signal relay on my '97 is located inside the frunk behind the driver's side hood strut. If you shine a light back under the cowl, you will see two relays. The turn signal relay has white print on it and has a VW part number. Photos can be seen in post #12 in this thread https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...is-needed.html

Thanks Terry
I stumbled on this thread of yours about 30 minutes ago and managed to get my hand in there, had to pull the hood strut off to fit my hand but I got it
Thanks for your help, mission accomplished

"just an update..... in case anyone else has this problem.... do a simple check.... pull out the console section where the hazard switch is and make sure the connector for the hazzard switch did not come loose.... somehow, that is what happened in my case, and just snapped the sucker together and BLINKERS / INDICATORS WORK AGAIN!!!!"
In any case that's one wierd-arsed place for a relay....

Ok, the clock thing with RHD is tricky to get, that's one for you , but the indicator relay in my car (early 95 model) was under the tunnel cover ... which i deleted and therefore had to find a new place for it ...
At the picture you see (through the tank gauge, aka LHD ... ) the first relay place for the annoying door alarm (relay is gone) the second relay in the picture is the mentioned one ... its for sure NOT the indicator relay but I have no idea what's its purpose??
i'm not even understand why i didn't just remove it...
