Roger,

The shade is actually not that bad to put together. Nor is it very costly to repair if you need to. Just a little tricky to put together. Let me know when you are at that stage and I'll give you some pointers if you need it.

The glass mechanism is a much bigger deal. Putting those cables in without fully removing the tracks or back window is very tight. Since you're glass is broken in the back, replacing the cables before new glass goes in is a good strategy.

Cheers, will bear it in mind when I get to the sunblind. It does look much simpler than the glass drive mechanism. For now, its a case of get the car back after painting, get the glass back in and get it working then just go drive the car and enjoy for a few months.
