We were there a couple weekends ago as part of a PCA Potomac weekend trip. An amazing event, including staying at the Umstead Resort, which is a class act! We partnered with some folks from the Hurricane Region, who hosted a fun Friday morning drive through the countryside, as well as a trip to Cary NC's Cars & Coffee on Saturday morning.
Friday afternoon we were treated to a viewing of Robert Ingram's private collection of Porsches, housed in a beautifully redecorated builidng (formerly a Studebaker dealership) in downtown Durham NC. Unfortunately, no photography allowed, so no pics. But it was so cool walking around some P-cars you'll never get to see elsewhere, while mingling with other enthusiasts, including Mr. & Mrs. Ingram and their sons.
Saturday afternoon, we visited the Museum exhibit. Awesome! Even got to see Mr. & Mrs. Ingram again, who happened to have 4 cars in the exhibit. And some of the exhibit's docents were members of PCA Hurricane Region whom we already had met.

There is supposed to be a special event this coming Monday (11/18):
Hoods Up Member Monday
If anyone goes on that day, and they open the 904/6, I would really like a picture of the id plate on the frame. I was fortunate enough to work at a shop that serviced 906-012. Original chassis and body; I don't think the engine was original though.

We'll definitely do my "North Loop" in the coming weeks. That will give you a proper introduction to some really nice roads just north of Chapel Hill. It's a 3 - 4 hour drive through some very nice back road twisties. That's the nice thing about N.C., we can do the drive in the middle of December!
My dad is in town for the week, then it's Thanksgiving. We'll plan something for the beginning of December.

I was finally able to coordinate schedules and purchased tickets for Dec. 29. Hopefully the Dung Beetle survives the trip without falling apart.

Keith,
Just a heads-up...The local Corvette club will be touring from 6:30 to 7:30. During their tour, there will be local PCA'ers on-site as Docents.
If your Sat morning is open, the local p-car folks meet at Jason's in Briar Creek from 08:00 to around 10:00.
