+1^ If memory serves, all that is needed is to isolate 1 pin from the harness, and the spoiler will work only when you actuate it with the switch.

Saves on moving part wear and tear, including the accordian wall on the spoiler.

+1 I did Boman993's mod too

That thing will drive you nuts driving around town and then cost you $100's to fix. I think the cars look better with it down too AND the spoiler light doesn't come on at start up. I used to hate that. I hate lights at (or actually immediately after) start up!

But,,, to the OPs Question, I too can see the lip in my mirror if you look carefully. If it doesn't come up check for Boman993s mod.

I remember when you posted that pic. Awesome pic. Yes, much easier!

Zip tie a short tube/stick to the spoiler grill sticking straight up. Takes 30 seconds.

Cheers,

Hey all, thanks for all the responses and great information! I'll see if I can view the spoiler with it raised, but I thought I tried that and couldn't see it. It might be that the Cabriolet has a smaller rear window than the Coupe, or I just need to push up in the seat to see it. If that doesn't work, I'll try a couple of the options mentioned here. I'm rarely on the Interstate, so finding a nice, shiny oil tanker going in my direction may not be so easy!

Install a Ducktail and stop worrying about it.

I cannot see it either. Maybe it's a cab issue with the small rear window like you mentioned. I know every time mine works because of the grinding!

You can also hear the spoiler wall crackle as it disintegrates while it unfurls!!
