Default Engine Drop: While you're in there Master List

So I have had a small leak for a while now that started off as a sweat, but is getting worse, so I decided to bring my car into my trusted Indy this winter to R&R the engine and replace leaky gaskets.

I have read Adam's amazing thread and pulled out some notes from there. Is there anything I am missing as far as what I should change or fix while I am in there: help me create a MASTER LIST.

here is what I have gathered so far(excuse the copy/paste):

plugs, wires, dist rebuild, caps, rotors, valve cover gaskets, chain tensioner gaskets, PS belt, new clutch slave, new clutch slave rubber line, lifters, fuel filter, SAI port clean, RMS, Wevo engine mounts, rennline rear subframe solid mounts, rennline gusset kit for engine carrier..

The seal on the crankcase vent and O-ring for the oil pressure sending unit . They are on top of the engine and under the VarioRam.

Rennline rear subframe solid bushings.

crankcase vent gasket

replacing the seals between the timing chain case and the crankshaft and camshaft housing

Timing chain cover seals
SAI check valve
Front shaft seal (under the pulley)
Varioram actuator seals (3) and bottom seal (where oil can pool and leak all over)
Oil pressure sensor
Oil temp sensor
Check clutch wear... maybe LWF / RS clutch if replacing

993C4SMontreal,

I've got my master excel spreadsheet that I created at the beginning of my journey. I added some things along the way of course but it is probably one of the more thorough lists out there. PM me your email and I'll send it over (if I haven't already...I forget who all I've sent it to). Happy to send to anyone else as well, just PM me.

Have fun!

WTF? F that, I took the opportunity to remove the factory sound padding off when I dropped my engine. Engine bay is cleaner and sound inside the car is better.

Has to be the most overrated thing, from a pure cost standpoint, you can do to these cars unless you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO replace the P/C set. (Even then, I'd scrounge takeoffs for a few hundred.)

Ed, let me know when the fun starts! Just like with Adam's project, I'm in as much as I can (usefully) help!

Thanks Keith. I'll post up an engine drop party to start. We'll be doing Javier's wires sometime in Nov as well. The lift will get some use!

Funny guy. Hey, if we're going down this path, why not the intermediate shaft bearings?
