Seriously?
If you did that your wheels wouldn't clear your calipers.

Not intended for my TT if that is what you were thinking but for a C2 and as far as I Know the C2/C4 had smaller calipers? If that is correct, there should be a bigger gap againt the wheel, therefore the 17" should fit I believe.

17" fit fine on C2/C4. Early NB 993s even came with 16" wheels.

Certain 17s fit over BigRed brakes without issues.... Ken (race911) runs 17" Cup 1s on his C4S as a winter set up. I bet Tramont would build a set of 17s that would clear...

Magdaddy,
Sent you a PM regarding possibly bringing wheels in CONUS.
Hope it helps.
Paul

EDIT:
My apologies...I did not look at the date of the OP, but if there is still a need to import these wheels, then my PM to Magdaddy is still valid. Otherwise please disregard

I am not sure this would get you a flattering look. The proportions might be off. Imagine the 16" wheel center on the stock 993 16" wheel surrounded by extra metal / bolts / hardware to make a 17" wheel.

Exactly I what I was thinking. I just decided I will stick with 18" rim size. Also, Tramont replied to me and said they don't offer the CUP wheel in 17" for Porsche.

Now there are two things that I'm not sure what route to go, mostly if a matter of preference taste, but any aditional photos or suggestions are welcome

I'm trying to find photos os any 993 with AXIS model and see how does it look like actually but can't find any.

A) I'm between the CUP and AXIS models. So far the visual differences between these two in my eyes are that CUP outer halves does contact with the bolts while the AXIS the bolts mount on the wheel center, meaning the outer halve in the AXIS models seals directly against the inner halve, while CUP model, the center is "sandwiched" between inner and outer halves.

Also, the shape of the spokes vary a bit from what I can see, the CUP are more pronounced design, like "convex" look and the AXIS are more "soft" spoke design, I mean they look more flat-plain or stright agains the halves.

CUP

AXIS

B) Sizes and offset: What a dilema...I'm guessing 18x8,5 front and 18x10 back for my Carrera wide body. Planning to tohave a spirit strett driving when roads/traffic let me but also track the car sometimes, not lookin to perform the best.

Tramont suggested me the following:

For your 993 C2 wide body you will have to mount :

- 8.5 x 18 ET 52 front (225 40 18) - outer rim 1,5"

- rear 10 x 18 ET 26 (265 35 18) or 11 x 18 ET 43 (285 30 18) : 3.5" outer im - as this is the same body a a Turbo

This is a car we have already equipped. With these dimensions the tyres are better maintained on the wheels, the trajectory and steering are more precise.
Opinions? Suggestions? Experiences?

Thanks a lot!

-Diego

Never ceases to amaze me...every et recommendation Tramont makes, seem to be different. That 10" wide rear, with an et of 26, will be tight. I have 8.5" et 45 fronts, and 11" et 38 rears, running 235/295 tires respectively. My rear wheel is very tight at my ride height. I don't understand why anyone would build a custom 10" wheel for the rear of a WB 993.

I was worried about the front fittment when I ordered my set of Cups, plenty of room up there actually.

Magdaddy, thanks for your reply. What's the size of the lips (width) in both wheels? Also, are you running stock (not rolled) fenders? It's flush with the tire/wheel combo?

Are you running 235/40 in front and 295/30 in the back? I'm not set in 18x10 for the back, in reality I do like 11" beter

thanks

If your putting these on a WB, I'd strongly reconsidering going for the 11" rears too.

front lip is approx 1 1/2", rear is 3 1/2", 235 fr-295 rr

Pic of rear fittment is with the rear suspension not fully compressed. The rear is very tight, I have no rubbing, but it's very close...and different left to right.

I have the same wheels as Joe, and my rear fit with respect to the fender is also different left and right. From what I was told, this happens on some cars, as the suspension is mounted to the body the tolerances allow this. On my car if you drop a plumb bob from the fender and measure to the wheel at the top my right measures 1/2" and my left measures 0". This means if everything was perfect the measurement would be 1/4" both sides.
I never noticed this with the stock wheels, as they sit much further inside the fenders. Even with the 11" wide 996TT wheels I didn't see it, remember you can't see both sides at the same time.
But even if you don't have this issue, with an ET38 your wheel will be only 1/4" inside of the outside edge of the fender. I would go with Tramont's recommendation if I had no variance left to right, and if there is a variance I would adjust for that so that the wheel sits at least 1/2" inboard.
As for the fronts, I would also use Tramont's rec. of ET52, or maybe split the difference from my ET 45 and their 52. The fronts at ET45 don't have the same issue of looking silly like the rears do at ET38 but the appearance would be improved if they were inboard an additional 3/16".

Well, I just read through 15 pages and maybe I missed what I'm looking for...

I've been emailing Tramont about a set of their Cup wheels for my C2S. They suggested 8.5 front and 11 rear, but I would rather smaller and lighter for 225/285 tires.

That said, has anyone been happy with 18x8 and 18x10 with their widebody and if so what offsets? The figures Tramont provide just didn't look right to me. At first they said ET 31 for the 18x10 rear but then changed it to ET40 when I filled them in with what stock is. Then again, I wouldn't mind if both front and rear come out a little more than stock. Instead of ET52 and ET40, maybe they had it right at about 9mm "out"?

Final question is on Customs / Duty. They said they don't know and suggested I check with RennList :-)

widebody 1997 Porsche 993 Carrera S:
8 x 18 ET 52 : 527,85 €
10 x 18 ET 40 : 589,90 €
Wheels : 2 235,50 €
Shipment : 400,00 €
TOTAL AMOUNT : 2 635,50 €

Thanks!

P.S. There was back and forth on shipping and I suggested what I do - 1 front and 1 rear individually boxed and then put into a 2nd box together. That way 4 wheels ship as a 2-box shipment. They liked that suggestion and lowered the total shipping to 400 Euro.

P.P.S. I just found a Duty Calculator that came up with:

Total customs value (FOB): US $2500.00 This is the amount that customs values your import at
- Duty: US $62.50
- Merchandise Processing Fee: US $25.00
Total import duty & taxes due: US $87.50 This is the amount that needs to be paid to customs
Total landed cost: US $3047.50 This is the total cost of importing, including product, shipping, insurance and import duty & taxes
