Default 993 Twists with spacers?!

I've flipped through countless of wheel threads lately searching for pics of 993 widebodies on stock 993 Turbo Twists running 5-7mm spacers...Does anyone have pics of their setup for comparison?

I want to run my twists for a bit to switch it up, but hate how un-flush they are with the fenders. I know spacers are the answer, but I wanted to see what that looks like!

At one point I had 15mm spacers in the rear of my old C4S bringing the offset to 25mm. That was with 265/35/18 tires. So the tire size plays a major role. With a 285 tire for instance you would probably only be able to fit a 5mm spacer back there.

Hey Jakob,

I run my factory hollow spoke twists during the fall/winter typically, some old pics but hopefully this helps your search!

Factory setup:

8x18 et 52 - 225/40/18
10x18 et 40 - 285/30/18 + 7mm spacer

These pics are at RS height maybe just slightly lower with Bridgestone SO4 Pole Positions. Never gonna sit nice like rims or the 996TT twists but still ok. I think a 5mm up front would be good too!

Hi Jakob,

Here are a couple of pics of my car (courtesy of Jager) running 5 mm spacers all around. OEM tire size. I really like the look.

Jakob, you have 996 wheels though right? So you already have 11's on the back vs. the 10's pictured above. I too feel I could probably run a 5 mm spacer on my 996 tt wheels to fill out the arches a bit.

This thread convinced me that I need some spacers. Where did you guys pick them up?

I did have 996TTs but sold them in the summer! Those wheels fit really well, but agreed that a front spacer (especially) would really make them flush. My plan is to sell the Techarts at some point too and run original twists until I find another set of wheels...

A variety of sources, OEM, H&R, RUF etc. Check out this thread, if re-purchasing I would consider the Hubcentric version made by Adaptec.

If I get spacers will I need to adjust anything like alignment? I wouldn't think so but just double checking. My car will be arriving with stock twists, and on the C4S they definitely could use a little push out further. Would 5mm all the way around work or should I go 7mm in the rear and 5mm in the front?

Hi Jakob,
I apologize for a "thread theft" but I was wondering what tires you are running.
I've got the same Techart wheels ( at least I think so)
Front 8.5x18 et 41 w Michelin PS2 225 40
Rear 11x18 et 34.5 w Michelin PS2 285 30
Ride height ROW -10(ish) Bilstien HD ROW M030 springs
I'm looking at new tires for next season and I'm considering getting wider esp at the front.
Your setup looks a little different ie the tires seem to "fill" the wheel well more.

Thanks,
Jim

Hey Jim, nice wheels!!

I am running Hankook Ventus V12 Evo in 235/40/18 Front and 295/30/18 Rear. Hope that helps!!

**I think your rears might be wider..I vaguely remember my rears being 10.5"...not 11s

It will not affect your alignment. If your looking to be absolutely safe, 5mm all around. You will notice some people argue you cannot get enough turns on 7mm. I've never had any issues running 7mm on my rears for street use, but wouldn't recommend running them on the track.

Jim - Different brands of tires = different sidewalls. Example a Hankook 295 will for sure look much sleeker/stretched vs a PS2 295, which has a very straight up sidewall.
