I will be replacing the OEM suspension on my 95. Are there parts from the old shocks I’ll need to reuse? I purchased Bilstein HD’s and H&R springs and it appears I’m going to need additional parts (parts that didn't come with the shocks or springs) to mount the springs onto the shocks.
Thanks for the replies. Ok, so I'll be reusing the top hats. Right now the front springs do not sit properly on the shocks. The spring slides right over the large adjusting nut so it's missing something. I live approx. an hour north of Philly in Slatington, PA.
Not sure I understand you correctly. Are you saying the bottom of your spring doesnt have the height adjusting nut around the shock body to sit on?
What I'm saying is, the shock does have the adjusting nut but this nut alone isn't large enough to allow the spring to sit on. The inside dia. of the spring is larger then the outside dia. of the adjusting nut.
Thanks for your help. I've done some more research and you're correct, there is what's called a concave washer (964-343-503-00). So I'll need to reuse the top hats and these washers.
cant wait to see the pics of the finished product when its back on all four.
looking good. Interesting info. My suspension research has begun, will change out this winter.
which jack stands are you using in this pic?
Great wheel well pics, have you refinished the red inside the well or is that OE?
If so what paint did you use?

Got those jackstands from Griots Garage as a gift. They are ok. I feel like the 3 or 4 legged stands are more stable though. As for the wheel wells, that's all OE paint. I just use cleaner and an assortment of brushes to clean them up.
