Best of luck in your search!!
Thanks for that. The difference sounds higher than I'd imagined (or hoped, perhaps). Next time in town, lunch is on me. PM and we'll do it. I'm downtown.

hemmings.com seems to pull in cars from all over the place that you normally would not see - some obscure dealers
I forget about HMN! I need to get back in there. Your car is gorgeous btw, and the sport seats just make it.

In a land of impractical cars, that car set a new standard. Yes, reliable. Yes, fast as the blazes. Super competent and composed. A flourish to your manhood. But the world's dumbest door design, a trunk too small for your second sock, and the visibility of a submarine in mud conspire to limit your touring pleasure.

The "S" search continues! Thanks for all your input folks.

I think I want a 993 as well.

I don't know for sure since its impossible to find one at a dealer to drive.

I had a 996 - fine car but lacked character.

i felt the same way about my 997S - just lacking in character and left me somewhat flat. certainly a capable car - just not the quintessential 911/air-cooled experience.

Yea, good luck.

I will tell you that I'm happy that I'm done searching. It's a "dog-eat-dog" world out there searching for 993's. You would have thought they only made about 1,000 of them.
