Got a quote from Parish Heacock today -- exactly the same as my Hagerty policy, they must use the same quote program!

Trying Leland West.

Mu policy ONLY requires car to be "regularly garaged over night" so I think when it is out being used if stolen I am covered, at least that is what I think

Yep....I had Leyland West for about 6 years and then realized I am self insuring if I do not live by their strict guidelines...or fabricate a good story and wait months for a settlement.

Be careful. It is not about the premium but more about the coverage and how claims are handled.

Actually State Farm will do agreed value (except in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Texas). I asked the agent twice and was told not available...sigh...then came across the WEB page.

The big issue is they currently only allow 2K miles per year.

For an agreed value of $70K cost was almost the same as the regular policy...$422 year. 250k/500K/100K liability $250 comprehensive deductible $1000 collision deductible (the deductibles really lower the rate) towing and full glass coverage. I think LW was something over $700 but I believe 3000 miles. May change for the mileage at some point.

Leland wanted another commuter car that is 3 years new. I didn't qualify.

If you guys shop around, you will find good rates at Amica, State Farm or Liberty Mutual. Amica does require a clean record though.

Hmm what happens if you get 20,000 worth of damage and the agreed value is 40,000. Or to make it really ugly, 30,000 worth of damage. I know, I could be a lot happier if I didn't think up awkward questions.
$30k of repairs against a $40k value will total the car, $20k against $40k value still has a good chance of totalling depending on what salvage residuals are. It all depends on what kind of company they are and if they are willing to repair up to the line. Some will disregard salvage value and go to the limit, others will throw in the towel early.
