Default Busted ABS Wire Harness

When I opened the connector holder to unplug the rear pad wear sensors I found the white connector crumbled and broken in half. Does anyone know where this harness terminates? I followed it to where it goes into the forward part of the engine compartment. It looks like installation will be a challenge. Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm sure it goes all the way to the abs ecu in the front boot with no joints or plugs in between, the front ones most certainly do
If the connections are all good I would glue it back together and slide a large piece of heat shrink over it to keep the water out
If the connections are damaged, then I would cut the white plug completely and solder and heat shrink the wires together or if you want to be able to unplug the abs sensor etc, then solder in a generic male/female plug and connector

The front sections of the ABS & brake sensor wiring are available as repair sections. There are crimp joints within the wiring harness, you have to unbind the harness until you get to the joint, remove the old loom, connect in the new loom and re-bind the loom with cloth tape. I will be able to post part numbers tomorrow from work if you cannot get them from your dealer, please let me know if you need more help.

Thank you for the advice. Both are good options. I'll try locating a repair kit tomorrow.

I stand corrected
Do you know how far up the loom? In the wheel arch area or inside the front boot?
I only ask as our other 993 has a intermittent high resistance fault on the front right between the white plug and the abs ecu plug pin and I though it was a continuous wire with no joints
Am now wondering since you said that if the fault is in the joint and not at the white plug

Apologies to the op for hijacking your thread, but it may be useful to you as well to know where
the join is too

I have this same problem (mine is the right rear). I spoke with the dealer and the wiring disappears into the body somewhere. He gave me a part number (don't have it handy at the moment) but did not mention a repair type of replacement.

Ninemeister,

I'd also be interested in any alternate replacement options!

NineMeister,

Thanks for the reply. The 993.612.185.00 is the part number I have as well. The dealer did not say anything about repair sections like you mentioned earlier. Are the crimp sections obvious to find and are they located on the wiring that is on the outside of the vehicle?

Thanks
