Default Alcantara Interior DIY

Been thinking about ways to break up Classic Grey interior and decided on Alcantara trim. Over the weekend I did the left door Hifi speaker box and door panel insert.
Alcantara is very nice to work with but can be a bit of a challenge to contour and work out creases around certain non-flat surfaces. Anyhow hope you folks like, i will post pictures of progress and final interior updates when done.

looks fantastic, post up some smaller photos when you get the parts onto the door and show us the finished product, it'll look even better when its all together.

great work, Looks professional and the shade of alcantera is perfect. Match it with some painted wheel centers to set it off. Such a well prepaired little work space. damn I need to get some of that slot wall or peg board.

Thanks!! Really enjoying work on interior, taking my time to do it right but at the same time anxious to see all the pieces come together. Next weekend i plan on doing top door trim, I'll post a picture once the door is done. Then on to the right door and center console. Cavalo 340mm steering wheel and shift boot I'll have professionally done since I'm not there yet with stitching.

The work area could use a larger table but it's a cozy little place where I can play my music and spend hours working on small projects like these. Some tools are two and three generations new which is pretty awesome to have some connection to my grandfather and dad while I work. Good stuff, will keep everyone posted.

Looks great! I've never been impressed with the vinyl section in the middle of the door panel. Perfect solution.

These projects are FUN! I'm working on my interior too. I'm taking all cashmere pieces and making them black. Some are being dyed, most are being recovered in leather. I like your comment about the 3rd gen tools.

Great work. I've done some Alcantara projects on other vehicles, but nothing on a Porsche. Great upgrade to go with. Although the material is not exactly cheap.

Totally agree, makes the decision to change it up much easier. Non of the original carpet or vinyl is damaged in this project so it can always be brought back to original (cant imagine anyone would but possible)

I considered this route also, will definitely be hitting the search function in the future to learn more about dye in our cars. Would be awesome to see some of your work.

Thanks, I agree not cheap. These days Alcantara is anywhere between 90 and 110 USD per linear yard. Still less expensive than carbon fiber.

Quad I haven't worked with leather and this is my first ever car fabric project. Although I cant imagine it being all that difficult. Let me finish up and we can take a look at your car. I'll charge you a 6 pack of Amstel Light, sounds good?

Nice work - pieces look quite good
Thanks! Always great to see our PelicanParts sponsor.

Default Sample on door

Hi all, finally had time to finish wrapping door panels in Alcantera. He are a couple of photos before I take everything back down. Have to sound proof door and start wiring audio. Hifi speakers box was removed. Leaving stock wires as is. Rennline door handle and 4 piece pedal set coming out and replacing with black. Also have to get shift boot and emergency break wrapped. Hope everyone likes the progress.

Thanks bud. Its not professional grade but I'm pretty happy with the end result. They were charging $725 for both doors so I saved the labor and put the funds towards SSK/GR which I'm doing tomorrow
