Default Had an hour to kill and some alcantara

So a thread on here had me thinking, and I found a source for alcantara. So I did my door card inserts. Pretty easy and it came out nice. I can only get it by the yard and have lots left over. Should I do the door pockets where the carpet is?

Very nice job. I've always thought the door pockets would be better off in Leather or Alcantra. Post pix if you decide to do it.

Yes, to me it looks a little odd with different materials. I like the look, it is subtle, classy but not overstated.

That looks great, nice job! I've never been impressed with the non-leather door card section. It just looks like a big hunk of vinyl I'm not sure about replacing the carpet on the lower section.

And your address so I can get mine covered! Looks great!

I added 997 GT3 seats to my car and had the ebrake handle covered in Alcantera. The door inserts would be a nice addition. Thanks for the suggestion!

Those inserts pop off really easily. Unbolt the forward part of the door handle only (the upper part.) Then he insert slides forward to release it from the rest of the card. Literally 1 bolt to remove...

Alcantara comes in a bunch of colors, and some pretty cool perforated patterns. I went with 1 shade off of black, a deep charcoal...I'm sure they have a tan that would match your interior.

Very Nice. Impressive. Where does one buy the Alcantara? Is it expensive?

I found a place online that happened to be less than a mile from my house...it's about $120 a yard. It came as a piece 36" x 59" for that.
